I guess it's too late for me to say "Happy Independence Day, self!" and it's kinda inappropriate too. Well, I don't really feel completely happy with the thought of being independent. Maybe others would feel lucky that they don't have their parents or family on their side but I'm not one of them. So yeah, kuya and I just got back here in Cavite last Monday. But before we left the US territories, we took the chance to visit daddy's cousin in LA, have a stroll at Citywalk/Universal Studios and the Walk of Fame as well. As usual, it seems surreal getting to all those places I thought I would never reach. Like, I feel so blessed having a very hardworking father who made us experience all of these. It's just sad that things are temporary.
I believe I took the heaviest step of my life in LAX. The moment I got my boarding pass, there's a sudden feeling of emptiness. I cried a bit while waiting for us to be checked-in. I cried on the plane. (So now, I know how hard it is for an OFW to be leaving his/her family.) I also cried when we got home. That's how sad I am. But right now, I'm trying to cope up. Aside from adjusting to time zone and weather, I'm also coping up with heavier responsibilities like doing chores at home and most importantly, aim on getting better grades.
I don't expect for something great to happen this semester. I just hope that things will be lighter.
PS. But independence is teaching me to be more responsible, I guess. :)
After almost 3 or 4 weeks, we came back to Arizona last weekend. This time, it was more special because we'll get to meet Lolo Celso's daughter who's currently living in Colorado. And because Memorial Day landed on a Monday, she and her boyfriend booked a flight to Arizona on Friday, making them spend their weekend there.
Daddy was telling us that she last saw Aunt Cecille when she was still a little girl. And now, she's 27. That's 20 years after. Me? I haven't seen her since then. I'm her friend in Facebook and Instagram but we haven't really talked about anything yet. It was my first time to see her in the flesh. By the way, if you can still remember my post way back May of 2012: Last Week of May. I mentioned there that I have a tita who's into fashion blogging. She's the one who I am referring to.
So it was indeed a fun weekend. I got to catch up with Aunt Eileen and we got to play with her kids, Lucas and Danalynn. These kids are the coolest! They're Filipino-Vietnamese, both born in the US. It was really draining to play with them, really. Then Aunt Cecille and I had a little talk. We had a great conversation about studies, family and boyfriend stuff (Well I said I never had a boyfriend but she and Uncle Chris' girlfriend, Katrina, said I will have one soon. I think that's creepy.) We talked like we've known each other for years. She's so sweet and cute. She even gave us her unused clothes, mostly Forever 21 (and she, her sister and I played dress-up) and she gave mommy a set of Victoria's Secret stuff and the rest of us, North Face shirts. Those are big names which I wouldn't be able to buy even if I have money because it's too costly. She's so generous. I think she like stuff like that because her work is something related to fashion before. Her boyfriend is such a lucky guy to have her.
The weekend wasn't enough to bond with their family but we have to be back at Mexico because daddy has still work. That, I guess is the saddest part of being in Arizona -- leaving. But Aunt Cecille and her boyrfriend plan to go to the Philippines by winter. I hope we'll see each other again.
PS. Along with the family gathering, the fact that I was so close to Nate Ruess' hometown, Glendale made our Arizona trip a blast. 34 miles. Freaking 34 miles away from Nate Ruess' family. The latter is a clear evidence of me, fun.girling. FUN.GIRL ACHIEVEMENT.
I guess the title preempts what I'm going to say next. Hihihi. But before anything else, I'm just going to give a little update with the things that are happening to me lately.
Because there are really bum moments of summer, I have to do things to consume time so I tried playing Candy Crush. I also watched some episodes of Detective Conan. Oh, I can't thank enough the speedy connection here. I also streamed Be Careful with My Heart and Showtime even if it's late here already. Last weekend, we went to Calexico to shop and we also went to Daddy's workmate's party. I met new Filipino and Mexican friends! That's it. I thought I would be able to make literary stuff this summer but I just don't feel enthusiastic about it. I also haven't read any book yet. This summer's just pure fun and I don't want to be a KJ. Hahaha!
So now.. *drum roll*
I'm currently into FUN. If you know what I mean. I'm listening and singing to their songs everyday since the start of the week. I first learned about the band last year. There was this addicting game on my cousin's iPad (Tap tap Revenge) and I always beat my cousins and my sister if the song's Walking the Dog by Fun. I thought it would stop there. Then it was last month when I heard about P!nk's song, Just Give Me a Reason. I didn't liked it at first but when I heard it a couple of times, I fell in love with the song. Then I realized that the guy who was featured in that song was the guy from Fun. I really like his voice. It sound s so authentic. Plus I also like his compositions. Right there and then, I searched for their songs on Youtube. And right now, I can sing every lyric of their songs. HIHIHIHI. (I think my Hihis sound creepy.) Anyway, I hope I'll be able to watch them perform live. They have concerts in Arizona and California and Mexico but are scheduled months from now. (When I'm not here anymore.) That sounds so unforntunate for me but I do hope they'll be able to perform in front of their Filipino fans. If that happens, I'll surely go.

We passed by hundreds of wind mills in Coachella, CA.
We arrived at Anaheim at 1pm. Looked for a hotel. Bought tickets in Disneyland.
Dinner at Shakey's.
The following day, we woke up early to go to Disneyland.
We saw the Queen of Hearts first. She looks a bit creepy but we still had a picture with her. Hihi.
We rode on a train that passes through all sides of Disneyland
We watched the Disneyland Band perform.

Before we headed back to the hotel, we watched first the Soundsational Parade. I was at awe to see the Disney characters. I felt like a kid again.

As we were about to take the exit we saw Daisy Duck and Minnie Mouse so we had a picture with them too. Minnie kissed me. Like wow.
The following day, we went to LA. We had lunch at Chowking which is near Jollibee and Goldilocks. And our last stop: HOLLYWOOD.
Yesterday, I feel so unproductive. I slept for like three hours in the afternoon and when I woke up, I realized that there are so many things I can do besides sleeping. So I decided to watch movies. I'm a fan of tear jerker films which can make me cry liters of tears. I don't know but these types of movies makes me feel good. Anyway, I watched The Time Traveler's Wife and I Give My First Love to You (a Jap film which was suggested to me by my blockmate, Harienne). Both films satisfied my 'crying' cravings (if there's such a thing). But I really felt the emotions coming out of the films. Rachel McAdams who's part of The Time Traveler's Wife is such a pro with chick flicks! She acts effortlessly and beautifully. I really love her.
After I had that mini-movie marathon, I suddenly realized that both films have the same theme which is about time. Oh, time. It makes me think again about things that saddens me these days. My time here in US is about to end in a month and it makes me paranoid what will happen if kuya and I return to the Philippines. We'll be independent. I can feel that it will be lonely than ever. I can't imagine myself going home, with nobody to talk to; with nobody to share thoughts; with nobody to cuddle with. I'll be missing mommy, daddy and my little sister :( And right now, I feel sad. Really sad imagining things. :( Mommy was asking us if we want to stay here for another three or four months. I refused because I want to graduate on time.
I don't know why time runs fast when we enjoy the most. I don't want summer to end yet. But since I can't control time, I'll just make the most of the time that I have here. Anyway, we'll be back here maybe next summer. :(
Making the most of our summer vacation (PHL season, haha. Since it's still spring here.) and as a celebration for kuya's 21st birthday, we went to the Grand Canyon last weekend. We stayed first in Lolo Celso's house in Gilbert, AZ and then the following day, we left for Grand Canyon. It was a four-hour drive from Gilbert. (A very long trip!) We sleep most of the time in the car because we haven't had good sleep that Saturday, except for daddy who drives of course! But when we're awake, we take advantage of the beautiful views and we take pictures.

We arrived at the Grand Canyon at 11 am. We went first to the visitor center of the park wherein there's a little event in line with Earth Day. We met this Plastic Bag Monster.
Then we went to the view deck of the canyon. There were a lot of people there along with us, who were at awe with the scenic view.
Then we went to the Yavapai Geology Museum, still inside the park. It seems like we had a field trip because there's a lot of Grand Canyon-related stuff there. Hello people who loves Science!
We didn't had that much time to still roam around the park and go to other points since daddy has work the following Monday. So we took some more pictures and left. And by the way, thank you to the American dude who volunteered to take a picture of us. Yes, we had one complete family picture at Grand Canyon. Again, thank you so much. I hope you get to read this. :)
It was a fun, fun day indeed. I will never get tired of thanking God for all these blessings that are being showered upon us. My summer will never be this enjoying if not with the US and Mexico Visa and this opportunity of traveling and being with my family. Thank you, Lord! ❤ I hope summer does not end. :)

Finally, after days of sleeping and traveling, I can now blog about our whole trip to US. :D
It's my first time to go on a plane. I didn't expect that it's gonna be that fun. We board at about 7 pm and we arrived at Honolulu International Airport at 12 nn. It was a long trip. So to kill time, I watched movies and played songs from the in-flight entertainment system. Snacks and dinner were also served throughout the trip.
We had lunch in Hawaii. :)
Board again for the connecting flight to Arizona. This time, we were lucky enough to seat near the windows. And yes, the obligatory plane-wing photo!
And by the way, Honolulu International Airport has cool off-shore runway. :)
Again, we had some snacks.
It took 6 hours before we reached Pheonix International Airport which is also beautiful. We were fetched by Lolo Celso and we slept in their house that night. Their house is really big and their beds are so fluffy. :)))
Unfortunately, our Grand Canyon trip was postponed.
:/ Before leaving for Mexico, we ate at Jeepney Bistro, a Filipino restaurant which serves delicious food! I love their adobo. :) And I got the chance to get a glimpse of Showtime through TFC! :D
I really liked the highway of US. The drivers are really disciplined and the roads have been constructed very well. Along with the fact that you don't need to pay any tolls upon entering their 'expressway'. The taxes that they pay are all worth it. I hope, one day, the Philippines will do the same way too.
We had a little stop-over at Taco Bell and we ate authentic tacos. Yummy!
We also stopped to have a photo op along the Yuma Desert. Ohhh, beautiful sand dunes. And not to forget, we also passed by the gigantic cacti!
Then we finally reached the border of California and Mexico later that afternoon. And we arrived in Mexicali at 7 pm (Not sure though but it's not that late when we reached our house).

It's just that I was so crazy about Chris Tiu before and he runs a blog so I thought of creating my own as well. Years have passed, and I have grown yet I still keep my personal stuff here. Yes, things may change but one thing's for sure -- I will continue running this blog as long as I can.
