A letter to Ramon Bautista
written on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 1:16 PM ✈

Dear Ramon Bautista,

I don’t know how to begin with this love letter. Okay. Let me say I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH first. Hihi. Anyway, I`ve got this story to tell. Last Saturday, I had the best worst day of my life. It was the date of your book signing in NBS Trinoma and I have planned a week prior to that date that I would really go. But a lot of things happened that week which made me doubt if I would really be able to go. “MAYBE NOT.” became one of the choices. During that Friday night, I was sure that I would come. I`ve got everything I need to make it happen. I had planned everything. Unfortunately, things didn’t fall into place the following day. I woke up at about 4 am that Saturday, bothered by a call my mom picked up. My lolo died. My lolo died. MY LOLO DIED. On that very moment, I felt that heavy feeling again but this time, with some peace in my heart. I know he’s now free from pain and suffering. I know he`s safe. I didn’t expect that I would still cry. Despite being prepared that that event would happen, it still hurts to know that some person close to you has to go. So that event made it hard for me to go to your book signing event. I`ve been wanting to see you for like years. Actually, I`ve had some plans before to go to events that you`re part of but sadly, it doesn`t happen. When I was about to leave for Trinoma, my mom changed her mind. She wouldn`t allow me to go. She said we still have to make plans for our trip to Isabela to attend our lolo’s wake and burial. I said that if they wanted to leave that Saturday already then it`s ok for me. I and my brother can come the other day anyway. She didn`t agree. So we had some misunderstanding before I left but in the end she allowed me. My eyes were puffy as I made my way to QC. I only got to realize that when I looked on the mirror in Trinoma. I saw that I wasn`t totally well neither excited to see you cause it’s been hurting me to make decisions; to leave without fixing my issues with my mom; to handle the situation about lolo. Sadness rules in my system that time despite the fact that I would be seeing you. I know that sucks. But I have to go. I need to go.

So after I bought Bakit Hindi ka Crush ng Crush Mo?, I hurriedly joined the long, long, looooong line which surrounded the outer portion of the National Bookstore. I was number 386. It was energy-draining to line up for almost two hours. But still, it was worth the wait. So while waiting for my book to be signed, I listened to your friends, Tado and Stanley Chi as they do contests. For the first time that day, I laughed. When it was our ‘group’s’ turn (I was the 386th in line), I stared at you the whole time. I know how tired you were that moment and that there`s still a lot of books to be signed. I understood that some of us wouldn’t have the chance to have a photo op with you. But you know, I`ve got some stolen pictures of you while you`re signing my book. And I guess, that’s one of the most precious 5 seconds in my life. 5 seconds that means forever to me. As I went out of the bookstore, I remembered the ‘moments’ I had with you in the past. You greeted me on my 16th birthday on air when BrewRATS was still alive. You answered my question which I sent to your Tumblr account. You gave me and all the other UPCAT takers pieces of advice on how to pass the said test. You even corrected my grammar. You said that I should have used advice instead of advices since its actually in plural form already. And you`ve had also answered my Formspring questions.

You never fail to feed my stomach with butterflies. I hope you can feed it more. Hihibrr. By the way, I`ve already finished reading the book. I enjoyed reading it again. Again, since I have already read some of those on your Formspring. I also enjoyed looking at your seductive and funny photos. To end this letter, let me say it again – I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH SIR RAMON VICTOR BAUTISTA. ♥

Yours truly,

Henna Rose Geronimo

Sembreak had been a blast
written on Monday, November 5, 2012 @ 12:33 PM ✈

Before I continue with my SEMBREAK STORIES, I would like to inform everyone that I have already registered for the coming election. :D My whole registration process lasted for 6 hours. :/ Anyway, I would certainly give my precious vote to those public servants who really thinks for the welfare of the public. :)

Last Monday night, our family left for Isabela. It was my first time to travel by bus since we always use a car when traveling. We rode on a Victory Liner bus which has free WIFI connection so I got the chance to go online while traveling. Hihi. I was asleep most of the time during the trip even if it was really uncomfortable. Haha! There were some bus stops along the way. We arrived at the Santiago Bus Terminal at around 9 am. We were fetched by Tito Bong.

When we arrived at our Lola's house, we bless to the elders. Then we went to my Lolo's hospital-like room. It tore my heart as I saw him in that state. I can't imagine that just five months ago, he can still walk, he can still eat a lot. But now, he's really thin, to the point that you can actually feel his bones when you touch him. He eats and drinks a little everyday. He's as weak as ever. :(

In our two-day stay in Ramon, Isabela, I enjoyed playing with my cousins. We played badminton, bunch of sports on Wii, and my favorite -- Taptap Revenge on Gelai's iPad! :D Oh, brings back my childhood. :>

A day before we left Isabela, I tried to see Lolo. I gently opened the door and when I was about to come in, I saw him saying "Hirap na hirap na po ako."  I don't know. I couldn't stand seeing him suffer so I closed the door. Thoughts just poured out from my head that moment. All I do is pray, pray and pray. Praying that God would lessen the pain that my Lolo has been feeling. Praying that God would call my Lolo back home so he won't suffer anymore. :(

Then on the early morning of November 1, we left for Nueva Ecija. Before leaving, we went to Lolo. Tears fell own from my eyes as I saw him calling "Nanay.. Nay.. Nanay.." My Lolo calls my Lola Nanay. But my Lola doesn't go to the room every time because she's also sick and she can't contain the pain of seeing the one she loves suffer.

We reached General Tinio, Nueva Ecija at 4 pm. I can't explain the over-flowing happiness of feeling the N.E. atmosphere; of seeing the green fields and old houses. Just, wow.

We went straight to the Memorial Park to visit my Inang. I talked to her. I shared to her my stories even if I know that she knows about it already cause I know she's watching me from heaven. :) It would've been so much happier if she's still here. I know she'll be proud of the things that I have achieved. Hihi.

Since it's already getting dark, we already went home. We also went to my Tita Susan's house, just nearby my Tita Liezel's house (where we are staying at), since there's a little celebration there. It has been five years since we last went there, so I was surprised to see all my cousins grown big (Yes, I'm the only one who didn't grow in terms of height. Haha!). Tita Susan invited us to have a sleep-over at their house so we slept there. When we woke up, mommy and I had coffee outside, as we enjoyed looking at the fields. Then we had our very sumptuous breakfast! There's tuyo, hotdog and rice plus fresh carabao's milk. Yum. The whole family decided to have lunch at the riverside. Almost all of our relatives were there. :) Then we plunged into the water afterwards. I enjoyed the serenity of the place and the beauty of nature. It's something that could not be seen here in the Metro.

The following hours was spent playing with my cousins, most especially with my 2-year old cutie patootie cousin, JL. He's so smart and he's so cuddly. I also got to talk with Jossel, my cousin who I always spend my summer with way back pre-school days. :> She took the UPCAT and she'll also be taking the PUPCET. Yeay!

Here's a picture of I and my niece, Izel. And beside it was my picture with her five years ago, with the same shirt. My size doesn't grow too. Haha!

Just this Saturday, we went back to Cavite to prepare for the resumption of classes. :/

I hope to have more sembreaks like this.

PS. My plans of getting pro with flute, of reading Nicholas Sparks' novels and of watching movies will then be moved on the next break. I am so excited for Christmas break. Hohohohoho. =))

Mountains and Fields
written on Friday, June 22, 2012 @ 11:49 AM ✈

Last Saturday, we went to Isabela to accompany my grandparents who had an appointment with the doctors here in Manila. It was a fun and long ride and I`m going to use bullets to elaborate more. :)

  • It was around 10:30 am when we left our house.
  • Took the Coastal Road route and entered the premises of Manila which was, as always, traffic.
  • Had lunch at Amber's Makati. Yum!
  • I think it was 2 pm when we reached NLEX.
  • We went straight to Bulacan to visit our relatives there. The Geronimo and Cruz side! :D We also fetch my Lolo's brother, Lolo Omeng, since he's also going to Isabela.
  • We had our Pre-Father's Day dinner at Max's Cabanatuan. Aww. Nueva Ecija. :)
  • Our next stop-over was in Shell San Jose, Nueva Ecija.
  • Another stop-over in Ashley & Kaye, Nueva Vizcaya.
  • Reached Isabela at 3 am.
  • After we had our breakfast at 7:30 am, I went to the market with my lola. It was nice to see everybody there greeting each other and all of them are very polite and jolly. :)
  • After the trip to the market, my cousins, Rich and I went to our other cousin's house just blocks away from my grandparents' house. I missed bonding times with them :)
  • Since classes will start the following day, we left Isabela at 5 pm and got home at 2:30 am.
Even though we haven`t really prepared for that trip, it was still fun and memorable. I love how everything turned out well. The conversation in the van, the food trips. Everything that transpired that day was worth keeping since it`s not everyday that we get the chance to go to our provinces. I hope to see the fields and mountains again.

PS. My cousin, Sofia, will be taking the UPCAT. I`ll be praying for you, Iah. I know you can do it! :)
